An anger management retreat at STAR allows you to discover and work with the underlying reasons for the pain and difficulty caused by your anger. Anger is a powerful, and often frightening, feeling. It is a feeling that tells you something is wrong, and energizes you to act—positively or negatively. The problem with this feeling comes from what you have been taught about anger and how you may have seen anger acted out on you or people close to you. The challenge is to learn how to express anger in a positive way. Used properly, the energy of anger can change the course of relationships in both private and public settings. There is truth in anger, truth that often is lost in the explosion of emotion that may follow. Everyone knows the experience—when truth comes out with so much energy attached, the truth is somehow lost. That creates frustration and leads to more anger, bringing everyone involved into a cycle of outburst, humiliation, shame, and more anger. There is a positive way out of all of this, a way to connect with the genuine feeling of anger and release it, safely. At STAR there’s a way to speak your truth that can be heard. Dealing with unresolved anger At STAR you can begin dealing with unresolved anger. You are given the opportunity to connect with your anger and learn to express it safely. You will find ways to communicate the truth which is embedded in the anger with a better chance of being heard. Beneath the anger, there may be pain—pain from hurt, neglect, abuse, or abandonment. This pain fuels the anger most people feel. At STAR there is a way to begin to heal that pain, and that healing comes from within. The process isn’t a quick fix. It involves changing the way you live your life from the inside out—having a genuine sense of personal power that is great enough to be gentle and compassionate, first to yourself, and then to the people around you. You have the power within your heart, underneath the pain and the anger. You will be moving toward dealing with the once unresolved anger, and consciously and effectively acting. In the safety of the anger management retreat setting of the STAR Process, you can work with your new tools of speaking your truth. You can test expressing your anger in new ways that allow for clearer communication. For reading recommendations go to: Emotional Release Reading |
