Awakening the spirit is the heart of STAR’s work, and is the underlying goal of all our programs.

STAR provides a profound opportunity to discover and deepen your own authentic spirituality. In the course of their STAR experience, many participants find themselves becoming stronger in their own religious or spiritual orientation and going deeper into their inner experience. Those for whom the realm of the spirit or soul has seemed vague, remote, or even nonexistent often experience a profound rekindling of the reality of this aspect of their lives.

The awakening of the spirit is an experience; it happens inside the skin, inside the psyche, in the deepest recesses of our private and personal knowing.

While matters of the soul and spirit are central to the work of STAR, we neither advocate nor prescribe specific religious beliefs or spiritual practices. Instead, STAR supports your personal search for authenticity in these issues, while taking great care to honor the reality and validity of everyone’s personal experience.

It is part of a great awakening that the use of the word ‘soul’ is now found in many titles of books, in lectures and conference titles. In the expansion of our consciousness we must return from our present concept of society, back to cellular memories, and finally reclaim our souls. In therapy we need to move through our pain, to before the pain, to the memory of wholeness which lies hidden within us. There are methods some very simple which we can learn to empower us on our journey from social adaptation, to cellular memory, to remembering soul. In that remembrance is the rebirth of the active, feeling, thinking reality of soul's presence in our lives. – Barbara Findeisen
