Kenyon ranch is fully air-conditioned and has a wonderful swimming pool and spa. In the summer, temperatures are much cooler than other parts of Arizona. The monsoon season, beginning in July, cools the area and provides visitors with Mother Nature’s exciting lightning shows and short desert rains. Many participants comment on the beautiful sunsets and moonrises that can create a special excitement while at STAR retreats.

STAR Foundation Retreat Site
All STAR Foundation Retreat workshops are held at the Pocket Sanctuary at the recently restored historic Kenyon Ranch in Tubac, Arizona. The Kenyon Ranch is located less than an hour south of Tucson International Airport. Nestled in the Santa Cruz River Valley, the ranch is surrounded by the beautiful Santa Rita and Tumacacori mountain ranges.

The Pocket Sanctuary offers STAR participants complete privacy while they stay in its comfortable heated and air conditioned casita rooms. The historic casitas are constructed of stone and are situated around charming patio areas. Ramadas, meditation gardens, and a labyrinth all offer quiet places for relaxation, contemplation, and meditation.
Delicious restaurant-quality meals are served throughout STAR. The Pocket Sanctuary arranges for an extraordinary chef, who creates healthy, beautiful meals. In addition, the chef offers alternatives for those participants who have dietary restrictions.
While STAR is in session, the Pocket Sanctuary arranges for several body workers (massage therapists) to be available for participants. STAR encourages participants to schedule one or more hours of bodywork as a complement to their Process. Massage encourages being in one’s body, relieves aching muscles and joints, increases freedom of movement, and helps to achieve a more balanced sense of self. There is an extra charge for this service.
