Change is in the Air
STAR Foundation Newsletter
Hi STAR Friends,
Kids are going back to school signaling the end of summer. Change is in the air. Like the weather, STAR also changes. We have a brand new website. Be sure to check it out at http://www.starfound.org. The essence of our work to support individual growth and healing awareness does not change. At the same time, we remain flexible and open to including new tools and latest research into STAR. For example, in the July group we included our first fulltime art director. Having STAR grad Leslie Alexander from Aiken, South Carolina, in the art room encouraging and supporting participants made such a positive change in our art program. I have wanted to enrich artistic creativity in STAR. Leslie made it happen. It was a good change.
STAR is not a cookie cutter, one size fits all process. We are a diverse group. Just look at the staff! The point of STAR is to clear away old limiting patterns and be more whole and authentic with more compassion for others and yourself. We know from our own personal experience it is not always an easy path strewn with rose petals. As staff individuals attend class, workshops, and trainings and explore many healing modalities, they share their new insights and skills with us. We remain focused and creative and gradually integrate the changes.
I have been leading STAR groups for over 30 years. It has been an unusual and privileged education. If I have any wisdom, it is due to the people I have known in STAR. From them I know healing changes are possible. I am a believer because I have seen it! Working in STAR has affirmed my possibility consciousness optimism. Thanks to you!
Take care of yourself. Remember that worry is focusing on negative possibilities. Consider the opposite—develop positive possibility consciousness. You get more of what you reinforce.
Love,
Barbara
